Testimonials

What our customers say.

Robinson Wheel Works designed a perfectly-fitting bike that has taken me everywhere from dirt road touring to local crits, and taught me everything I know about bike fit.

These folks know what they are doing. I have always wanted to get my bike ergonomically fitted to me. I stopped in on a whim one day and asked them about that service and Chris really sounded like, not only was he totally into it, that he really knew what he was talking about.

- Laura C.
The repairs you did are terrific. Thanks for helping me with the grip and numbness problems. I am confident that we can sort them out.
I am particularly impressed with your business model: computer estimate, photos of parts, etc. You can't even get this kind of service at a car mechanic's. No wonder you are so highly regarded in your field of expertise.

- Maureen F.
Chris Robinson has been working on my bike for years now and never had any complaints. I'll always recommend Robinson Wheel Works to anybody who's looking for a new bike and/or repairs.

- Roddy A.
Chris was fantastic! We went in on a whim to look at helmets and met Chris, so knowledgeable and helpful. I was interested in finding a helmet and Chris took the time to explain the differences in quality and pricing and why some helmets are just better than others.
I decided on the Lazer helmet, they didn't have the exact color of the one that I wanted in stock but Chris ordered it for me and it came in only after a couple of days.
The whole experience was great and will most definitely go back to Robinson Wheel Works for any biking needs.

Chris is awesome! My Lady & I went in to get her seat post & saddle replaced as well as her bike looked at, and We left there with a wealth of cycling knowledge. Chris is approachable (RARE in cycle shops these days) and willing to help. I even inquired about his bikes for sale and he told me to keep riding what I ride first and before investing be sure I know what kind of bike I prefer (Road, Mtn, Hybrid, etc). He even spoke a lil' Tagalog! My lady and I are humble recreational riders and hope to be riding at a higher level someday. Chris had sparked that flame for us. Oh, and they do GREAT service on bikes...my lady's Trek 4300 runs like a champ!

I am a bike racer, I race road, mountain, and cyclocross. I use RWW as my shop and have for years. I've bought many bikes, wheels and parts there. The advice Chris and his crew has given me is always spot on. The wheels that they build are terrific—extremely reliable. And, if you do something stupid to your wheels during a race (or other questionable circumstance) they always cheerfully repair them and usually for free. If you are a racer, I strongly recommend that you get your wheels (at least) from this shop. Chris will give you excellent advice on what your racing wheel needs are and build you some bullet proof wheels. And, if anything goes wrong, (like manufacturing defect or you simply badly abused your wheels) Chris will fix them for you fast or give you a loaner.
I have sent my cycling newbie friends to RWW and they too have always been satisfied with the advice, bike fits, purchases and service they received. Whether you are new to cycling or an experienced racer, this is a great shop to go to. The quintessential, great local bike shop.

The Robinson Mechanic

san-leandro-bike-mechanic

Who do you feel is the best bike mechanic out there? We all love our bikes, right, so when it comes time to get them serviced we don’t trust just anyone to do the job. Some of you out there are knowledgeable enough to do your own repairs, but for most cyclists they need to rely on the expertise of others. At Robinson Wheel Works we know bikes. All we do is sell and service bikes and hand-built wheels. Unlike many other big retailers, this specialty bike shop is focused on one thing, your bike.
